The '70 Chevelle is a one-year iconic shape that's always in demand, and it only get better with a professionally application of the year-correct Cranberry Red. This is the kind of modern application that has a terrific gloss to really highlight the super-straight sheetmetal. But more than just getting the fundamentals right, this coupe is pure desire on wheels thanks to all the aggressive details.
Inside, the factory-correct dark saddle interior feels fresh, and it has a distinctive color against the exterior red. There was an absolute eye for detail during restoration, because the aspects look good, right down to the insignia trim on both rows of seats. Plus, this has the right driver features you want. It includes the dual-spoke SS steering wheel that gives you a clear view to the U14 round gauges w/large tach, and there are auxiliary readouts under the dash. And we know there's nothing better than rolling down all the windows and showing off the pillarless hardtop profile while listening to the exhaust rumble.
The bright block, shining valve covers, and air topper with diaphragm sealing it to the fresh air cowl hood: it's all what we love to see on an SS 396. So it only gets better when you know this is the numbers-matching L34 big block. As you dig deeper you're also going to see that this actually has a few nice newer supporting components, like the master cylinder and radiator. It makes for a strong total package that fires up eagerly, runs great, and makes plenty of throaty sounds out of the dual exhaust. This also has the right SS features, like the boxed trailing arms, rear sway bar, and a 12-bolt rear end. Plus, there's power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and the numbers-matching TH400 three-speed automatic transmission to keep this an easy cruiser.
