This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute not only gets the muscle car look right, but also with a performance-built stroker V8 and four-on-the-floor, this hardtop knows how to bring serious power to the streets.

When you want to make a bold first impression with your Chevelle, a nice place to start is always red paint. This is a more modern application with a quality look you recognize in its depth and shine. This goes nicely with the bright trim and the special chrome bumpers (remember, this would be the last year that they'd hug the form so nicely.) The black SS stripes are paint on top to give this a nice contrast, and at the same time, they coordinate with the blackout grille. And there are more great sporty details, like the power bulge of the cowl hood, wide dual exhaust tips, and upgraded 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels.

The black accents of the exterior get you ready for the full black interior. You can tell that the upholstery, door panels, headliner, carpeting, and other fundamentals received attention during the restoration to make sure this coupe is a nice place to spend some time. There's even an AM/FM/CD stereo so that everyone can enjoy upgraded driving music. But the best additions are all about making this a driver-focused machine. You have low-back bucket seats with a center console in-between. There's a grippy Lecarra steering wheel, white-faced auxiliary gauges, and a large column-mounted VDO tach. That last one goes particularly well with the upgraded Hurst floor shifter.

The engine bay has the look of performance. You instantly spot hardy components, like the steel-braided hoses and Moroso valve covers. And at the heart of it all is a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8. This is upgraded further with performance pieces such as a Demon four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, MSD Distributor, and long tube headers that add power while giving this a mighty roar. The Muncie M20 four speed manual transmission has a crisp action to put you in firm control of it all. Plus, there's power steering, an upgraded rear end with tubular arms and a sway bar, power brakes with discs up front, and modern performance tires.
