Yes, the paint is original and yes, it is rough, but these awesome big block Chevelles are only original once. The paint is fading, chipped, and missing in some places, but it looks so menacing.
The interior is also all original to the car, but the engine is not. The original engine was blown up very early in this cars life. I've been told that this car was always an L78 car, but I have no real proof other than the previous owners statement and the fact that it does have a factory GM original 7k knee knocker tach that relines at 6000rpm. This is an L78 only tachometer and a very rare piece to find. I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this car came from the factory with an M21 4 speed transmission with the extremely rare original A-A coded Tuxedo Black paint along with factory bucket seats and factory console shift. An all original paint black on black bucket seat SS396 4 speed is extremely rare without even taking into account the engine horse power rating. Regardless, it does have a 1967-1968 4 bolt main L-78 motor under the hood.
