The drivetrain consists of a wicked 496ci Chevy built for this car. It has an estimated 700hp and runs on pump gas with a 10:1 compression ratio. Highlights include Eagle rods, JE pistons, and Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads. There is also a Meziere high flow electric water pump, dual electric fans, and a full MSD ignition. Not to be missed is the rare Offenhauser dual quad intake topped by twin Demon 750cfm carburetors fed by a Holley electric fuel pump. The ceramic coated exhaust is true to the gasser theme, with cutout plates under the fenders and Flowmaster mufflers further back. Note this car is quite loud even with the header plates; take them off and you’ll be setting off car alarms.
Behind the engine is a Perfection clutch with a Howe hydraulic release bearing contained by a Lakewood scattershield. This is followed by a Richmond Super T10 4-speed transmission. The custom aluminum driveshaft spins the Currie 9” rear end which houses 31-spline axles and 5.29 gears! While that is a high ratio, it is made reasonable through a tall first gear and the big rear tires. The suspension uses ladder bars in back with adjustable coilovers, while the solid front axle has QA1 shocks along with a Borgeson steering box and Wilwood disc brakes.
