1957 Bel Air convertible came out of Canada. The Canadian vin numbers have the two letters AB followed by six numbers 455485 as you can see in my pictures of the Vin Number Plate. They differ from the American Vin numbers in that the US cars start with VC57xxxxx. General Motors had the factory produce cars for Canada and export as well as cars for the United States. The car was born with the 283 with 2 speed power glide automatic transmission. The car runs and shifts smoothly. The car had a restoration back in the 1970's, the interior was done in a professional white tuck & roll and a re-paint of the original Seminole red around 45 years ago. The top is in good condition, rear plastic window has a small crack and is yellowed over the years. The electric powered top works smoothly. The pictures will show the top both up and down. The padded dash was an option. The original radio and speaker work after the tubes warm up, cool. I know from my recent research that these Canadian cars hold same value and fact they maybe more valuable because fewer of them around. This car is a driver, not a concourse show car. The floors are in good, solid condition. Small rust area is on one rocker, a small pin hole area the only area we could find. The bright work is in nice condition some pitting on door handles. The car is original except for the Professional tuck and roll Upholstery which has no tears, both front and rear seat frames are original to the car.
