1960 Bentley S2 Silver Cloud II 8 Cyl 6.2L Engine

Beautiful Bentley S2 Saloon for sale in Sonoma California. Very pretty, restored car in excellent condition all around. Black over Gunmetal Grey with alacantera Gucci Edition interior. The S2 was the cross-over car for Bentley announced at the beginning of October 1959 as with the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II, the S2 replaced the straight-six engine of the Bentley S1 with a new aluminum V8 engine displacing 6.2 L (6230 cc/380 in³). With this new engine, the S2 offered significantly better performance than the previous cars. The cylinder block and heads are cast in aluminum alloy and hydraulic tappets operate the overhead valves. The engine has a compression ratio of 8 to 1 and is fitted with twin carburetors with automatic choke. Other features of this S2 include fully automatic transmission, power-assisted steering and factory air conditioning (appears to need charging). The 6.2L V8 starts with ease and runs beautifully with no smoke or issues. While not documented, I get the impression that the engine was likely rebuilt at some point. The transmission was recently rebuilt and the shifting is smooth and accurate. The braking and suspension also feel good and the car handles very nicely. The car currently shows 20,243 miles.
