This car was built September 26, 1956 and was the 17th car off the 1957 production line sporting VIN no. E57S100017. The first 24 cars were considered Pilot Cars, were painted Cascade Green, and were fitted with a range of features and options that were being considered for that production year. This retired Vette has been modified for the SCCA racing circuit; I.e., 427-390 hp vintage '60's Vette engine, Muncie M21 close ratio tranny and posi rear end. The history continues with a full set of vintage Stewart Warner gauges, Chevelle front disc brakes, elec. fuel pump, two-stage power assisted master cylinder and a vintage distributor tach drive system. With flared fenders, front and rear, this vintage racer closely resembles an old school Cobra which was its major competitor of the day. Looking like she stepped right off the race track, imperfections included, she looks like she could repeat the back-to-back SCCA points championships she's said to have won in the early '70s.
