DETAILS OF CAR:
Paint – The paint is just striking, smooth, and a high quality paint. It may not be as smooth as a hand-rubbed lacquer, but it’s beautifully done. The paint job is professional and matches correctly without any deviation in color in any of the panels. The jams are also painted nicely. There is a little bit of over spray on the interior beading, up against the door jams, and a little paint around the door lock.
Body – In general, the body is beautifully done, and is extremely smooth and straight. Upon close inspection, you can see two 1 - 1 ½" cracks below the left rear tail light. There are a few bubbles where the left fin meets the quarter, and a couple of light bubbles on the bottom of the emblem. There is also a bit of light cracking around the rear trunk emblem, a light crack around the right tail light on the quarter, and cracks on the hood (see photos).
Top – The top appears to be in nice condition, and looks fairly new/recent. Any dirt would probably come clean with a little scrubbing, and make it bright white again.
Chassis/Under Carriage – The underside is pretty much original with the exception of some rust repairs. It has had floor pans installed, and floor repairs done in the front and rear. There are also some areas of rust remaining. Please refer to pictures.
Chrome / Bright Work – The front and rear bumpers and associated pieces are very shiny, bright, and barely show any wear or age. The chrome and bright work on this car look similar to a vehicle only a few years old!
The rest of the stainless pieces are in the same condition – shiny, smooth, and pretty much free of damage. There is a very light dent on the snap down piece for the boot, and a very light dent near the right windshield wiper. The grill (around the windshield wiper units) and the tip of the power antenna show some light pitting. There are also a couple of light tarnished parts on the bottom bright work on the passenger’s window.
Glass – All of the glass looks free of bull-eyes and cracks. The side windows are in really nice condition, as is the rear plastic window (except for a little light scuffing). The glass does not show any noticeable yellowing at this point. The front windshield has a very light scratch that follows the curve of the left windshield wiper, but it’s not very deep or noticeable.
Interior – The interior is a combination of nice original and restored panels. Looking at the top dash panel, black area, etc., it’s evident that the dash was redone. The door switches and the chrome appear to be in nice condition, and look original. The door trims have been partially or totally restored, and the seats were freshly done in a nice quality, vinyl. The black carpet shows a little wear, but doesn’t seem to be too faded. The metal bows inside the top, and shows a slight amount of dirt, as well as some light pitting on the chrome pieces (see photos). Again, a little scrubbing would really make this an outstanding-looking interior.
Tires and Wheels – Everything seems to be in nice condition. The tires are practically new, and have less than 100 miles on them. They do not show any age or signs of cracking. The hub caps also appear to be in good condition.
Mechanical Condition – The owner took the car for a drive, and he said it steers well, shifts fine, and is quiet and smooth. There is hardly any noise in it, and there is no type of smoke. It is really in good shape. It does pull a little to the right on braking, but it may be fine if it’s driven a little bit.
Engine and Transmission – Under the hood, the Cadillac engine shows no noticeable changes, just replacement parts here and there. The owner believes the car has the correct drive train. It has power steering, power brakes, and looks like the windshield had an overflow tank added. A new water pump and a new exhaust (complete front to back) were installed in the last year.
