This one has the best upgrades from the Camaro's first generation, including SS badging, provisions for RS hidden headlights, the D80 full-width rear spoiler, and a super scoop cowl hood. There have been some more recent investments in upgrades, like the new chrome bumpers. The shine goes nicely with the polished Torq Thrust wheels. And the white convertible top is good and bright. So when it's in place, the roof coordinates with the front stripe to give this red Camaro that all-American appeal of a Coca-Cola bottle. Overall, the market for drop-top big block Camaros like these can bring big money. So we love strong-running example that already has all the right fundamentals in place. And its affordability means enjoying it today and deciding if you want to update it with personal touches (respray, larger wheels, electric headlight doors, etc.)
While this one has a striking color combo with the roof in place, with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal an even more impressive interior. After all, there's just something extra attractive about a red convertible with a red on the inside, too. This one has a truly iconic look with the houndstooth cloth inserts on the button-top seats. In fact, the whole interior has a nice look with a quality presentation on the fundaments like the dash, carpeting, seatbelts, and door panels. It makes for the kind of classic that family and friends will want to join in the ride. But with features like the three-spoke steering wheel and center console w/horseshoe shifter, you really know the driver is always king.
The engine bay has a nice look with smooth inner walls and plenty of polish on the Edelbrock air topper and valve covers. But what you'll really like is that this Camaro has proper big block power. It's a period-correct 396 cubic-inch V8. It even has the kind of features you really want, like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, upgraded ignition, and headers feeding the deep tones of the dual exhaust. The upgraded 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission means better gearing to take advantage of the power as well as deliver smooth overdrive. Plus, power steering, front disc brakes, and wide modern tires make this convertible a fine driver.
