Exterior
Undergoing an extensive restoration, this car was painstakingly gone over to straighten all the steel, as well as redo the forced air dual intake fiberglass hood. After these details were taken care of, a fresh coat of Nocturne Mist was put on. All chrome was worked to perfection, badging renewed, and top which remains original, was checked for mechanicals. Super Stock 11 wheels wrapped in wide oval G70x14 RWL tires. Few faults are noted on this car!
Interior
Once completely gutted to facilitate the repainting and steel restoration, it now finds itself in showroom condition. Beautiful vinyl with upper button stitched square pattern with vertical stitched pleating below covers all the seats, which look like they have never been sat in, show the deluxe front and rear lap belts. Door panels also redone have a faux veneer running through stitched blue vinyl pattern looking similar to the seats. A restored dash with original matching gauges, factory air conditioning, faux wood grain and Nocturne Mist coated metal fronted by an original deluxe steering wheel with an X pattern and tilt away option. Power side windows, and a sports console top off the interior as excellent.
Drivetrain
Contrary to popular belief the 442 designation is not from the engine displacement. This engine is actually a 455ci V8. Story goes that the 442 actually came from the introduction in 1964, and stands for 4-barrel carburetor, 4-speed manual transmission, and 2 (dual) exhaust. This engine was removed from the car, revamped, repainted, and now sits proudly and very cleanly in the restored engine bay. All working ready to light up the rear tires. This car also has a 3-speed automatic transmission. (Does this make it a 432?!)
Undercarriage
No rust, no surface rust, very nicely done, showing power front disc brakes, a heavy-duty performance axle package (3:23) rally suspension, and a shiny new dual exhaust system snaking its way from the engine to the rear chrome tipped pipes.
