1962 Porsche 356 Original ENGINE
PORSCHE 356 SUPER 90 BLACK COUPE GOOD CONDITION- ORIGINAL ENGINE- T6 356B MODEL
1962 Porsche 356 with Original Super 90 Engine.
This black beauty is a rare Porsche model that is just a pleasure to drive. It is a rust-free 1962 Porsche 356 Coupe with the Original Super 90 Engine, which runs great. It is a Reutter 356B couple with the T6 body style. I purchased this car in 2011 when I lived in California and it is the 6th Vintage Porsche I have owned. The previous owner had it from 1985 until my purchase and there were 2 prior owners. The odometer lists 16,803- I believe but cannot guarantee that the actual mileage is 116803, but this would coincide with the service paperwork that I have from the prior owner. The car is always garaged and professionally maintained. I own and run two businesses in NYC and I can't give the proper time to drive the car weekly, which is what 356s really need. So I'm passing the torch to the next steward.

The Porsche 356 is a great, classic Porsche. Lightweight, with a spirited engine, they are a pleasure to drive and are made for curvy roads. Approximately 78,000 of these cars were made and it's estimated that only 1/2 of them survive today. This model is the desirable T6 body style of the 356B and has the 90-horsepower 616/7 1600cc engine. Around 6,000 Super 90 engines were made, so fewer than 8% of 356s had this engine option.

As I've owned several of these old Porsches and appreciate other people's respect for these cars, I will be completely straightforward about the car and what I know about it. This Porsche is a fun driver. While it is a beautiful car and draws a lot of attention, it is not a Concours car- mechanically it is solid and performs very well, but it has some cosmetic imperfections. The paint is an older paint job of Black over the original color (Yellow) and the paint is cracking in places and has chipped off in a few spots, plus there are a handful of scratches that I will describe below and have in the additional photographs (see link for 70 pictures). Additionally, there are a few odds and ends that I haven't tackled yet cosmetically- there is a 2mm rock chip in the windshield, one of the fog lamps is cracked, the horn button is cracked, the original radio has power but the speakers aren't functional.
