1958 Chevrolet Corvette Sport Convertible 283 V8 4BBL 230 HP ENGINE
New period correct style exhaust pipes and mufflers installed as close to factory as possible with tips out the bumpers. This Corvette was originally a Snow Crest White however was painted Signet Red in approx 2010. The body and paint are incredibly well presented. Paint exterior condition is Show Quality and looks like it was painted yesterday. Body and door lines are quite nice and hood closes and latches as designed. Paint has scratches, chips and imperfections that are hard to locate. The Original exterior body chrome, molding, trim including bumpers are all original and in incredibly excellent condition for the age. Interior bucket seats are not original. The interior is presentable and functional. Interior window chrome, bezels and trim are pitted as is the original steering wheel center cap and horn button as can be seen in pictures. Speedometer is non operational. Door panels are in very nice condition. Carpet has been replaced, everything thing else on the interior needs at some point to be restored to some degree. Pictures toward the end of the video are fairly extensive of the interior, engine bay and the undercarriage. This 1958 Corvette is essentially a one owner mechanically unrestored survivor. Has been garaged and cared for however not driven more than few hundred miles in last 10 years since it was painted. The car runs, drives and rides very nicely. Starts and shifts effortlessly. Brakes respond well as does acceleration. All lights, turn signals and wipers work as designed, see video. Trunk compartment is immaculate however original spare tire is missing. Under dash toggle switch operates working rear electric antenna as seen in the video. Front glass is original as are door windows that roll up and down. Overall, the drivability factor is very good around town. Recommendation for a 100-mile freeway drive would be a complete inspection prior to trip. This car does not have the original hardtop. Comes with a new White Convertible top that folds nicely into the storage compartment it was designed for with working center button and latches. Also includes original black seat belts, tire iron and jack as well as new brake, clutch pedal pads + misc. weather stripping.
