1971 Datsun 510 Rebello Datsun 510 Very fast
1971 Datsun 510, Extensive performance-oriented restoration Rebello built 2.4L stroker, 5-speed, LSD, Watanabe wheels, Mikuni Side Draft Carburetors.
This phenomenal ’71 Datsun 510 is most likely the best and most dialed 510’s on the road today, nothing overlooked. Very fast, nimble, and perfectly balanced as a result of an open wallet build based on an original and very solid – rust free car.
The current track/street purpose build was performed in 2009 and includes a very long list of modifications which for the perfect precision tool, include:
- Rebello built Z22 engine equipped with 89mm JE pistons, Mikuni 44s carburetors on a Ray Reed manifold and Ermish Racing header.
- 240sx 5 speed transmission paired to a 3.90:1 LSD
- Stance Suspension Coilovers
- ST Swaybars
- 14” Watanabe wheels
The engine’s performance was recorded at 242 HP at 6600 RPM and 220 pounds of torque. The driving experience of this car is truly like no other. The acceleration, sound, power delivery and speed are very impressive. It would be doing 100 mph in no time and effortless. The suspension is impressively dialed in, providing a balanced well behaved highway performance and swiss-like precision when cornering. This car is absolutely planted on the tarmac at spirited driving.
The beautiful, rust free body and frame red paint looks fresh and almost like freshly applied. The likes are arrow straight and the doors, bonnet, and trunk gaps are even all around.
The black interior also shows very nice with the original dash without cracks, original working instruments where even the dash lights work!. The carpeting shows very nice as well as the rear bench seat and the headliner. Driver and passenger ride on vintage E30 BMW seats and control is gained through a three-spoke vintage steering wheel and a Tomei shift knob. Additional engine information is gained from a three-gauge Speedhunt cluster located under the radio.
