1967 Ford Mustang 427 Ford Performance crate motor TKO 5 speed
1967 Mustang Fastback "The Mule", 427 Ford Performance crate motor, Pro-M Electronic Fuel Injection, TKO 5 speed from Modern Driveline, Street or Track complete coil-over suspension. Front suspension is all Street or Track sport springs and Bilstein shocks except the upper control arms-those are Mike Maier custom built pieces. Rear suspension is Street or Track's 3 Link/Watts link arrangement, sport springs and Bilstein shocks. 9 inch, 3:50 gears, limited slip diff, aluminum driveshaft. Brakes are all 2007 Mustang GT, 12.5 inch front, 11.7 rears. Brake booster and master cylinder are stock Ford upgrades. Aeromotive fuel tank in with in tank Wahlbro pump, long tube headers, cross over, Mike Maier's Mod 1 steering box and KRC pump. GM 3 wire alternator upgrade. Black Magic fan and Titan radiator. Fresh paint about a year ago, fiberglass bumpers, all the trim was powder coated semi gloss black. Wheels are late model FR500's that I had custom narrowed and powder coated, 245/17's in front and 275/17 (brand new) out back. Auto Meter gauges. All the seals including windows have been done, windows tinted all around.
This hot rod always starts, doesn't matter how hot, cold, how long it's sat, and will drive anywhere, and get decent mileage (well for a Windsor based 427 anyway). This car has been a 20 year romp, it's had a 200 six, 302, 351 and now the 427, auto, 4 speed and now 5 speed hence "The Mule". It has not been rotisserie restored, still sporting its original floor pans. Drivers side floor pan was replaced, as well as the left rear quarter when it was painted last year. It's also been driven, in the rain, in the heat, and some mud, but no snow! My point is that it's not a show car, it's not pristine underneath, has some road grim and dust on the suspension. The rebuild of the car (it was British racing green at one point has about 15k on the clock, motor and EFI has 5k and the TKO has about 1k miles on it. Before anyone asks it does not have A/C.
