1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Super Cobra Jet fantastic condition
Back to 1969, a fantastic year for the car industry and especially for the Ford Mustang. With the Mach 1 Ford offered an iconic version for performance oriented customers that was available with several engine options. The 428 SCJ was first introduced during the 1969 model year. Mustang buyers who selected either of the optional 3.91:1 or 4.30:1 rear end gear ratios got more than just an optional axle ratio! Ordering either of these axle ratio options commonly triggered a few other upgrades as well, including the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine, an external oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator, and relocation of the driver's side horn to the passenger side of the radiator core support to make room for the oil cooler. Starting in February 1969 this complete package could be ordered as the "Drag Pack" option. Note that it was not thought to be possible to order an SCJ engine by itself - the only way to get your hands on an SCJ in a Mustang was to order the optional 3.91:1 or 4.30:1 rear end gear ratios.
This stunning unrestored example is offered with 54,100mls in fantastic condition. She is equipped with the 3,91 rear axle the factory oil cooler as part of tghe Drag Pack. The Mach 1 was repainted in the original Wimbledon White several years ago, and other than that just well maintained and carefully enjoyed. Both engine and transmission run and shift flawlessly and crank out a tremendous amount of torque to the wheels. The interior is in beautiful shape with no rips or tears.
She is sitting on a new set of Good Year Polyglas GTs and is ready for the next adventure.
