1966 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK GT350 CLONE WITH SHELBY COBRA PARTS TOPLOADER 4 SPEED
1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Original "C" Code 289 V8 Car that came from the factory equipped with a 3 Speed Manual Transmission but was upgraded to a Toploader 4 Speed Transmission. This is vin number 6F09C327032. I am not sure if this was an original "GT" package car or if it was converted over, It does have an original Fog Light switch on the dash and appears to be although this also got many Shelby upgrades and modifications so that may have been an upgrade as well. This is a 1990's era restoration that is very presentable, but by no means a freshly restored vehicle. It has a Ford 302 with upgraded Cam (I will add a linked picture of the cam birth certificate and specs), Built on a Mexican 302 Hipo style block (The Ford mexican 302 blocks were sought after in the 1990's as they had the Hipo style main caps not found on regular 289/302 blocks. This comes with a Shelby aluminum intake, Cobra Lettered Valve Covers, Traction Bars, Cobra "T" Aluminum Oil Pan, 289 Hipo Ford Replacement (C8ZE) Balancer. This has an 8 Inch 28 Spline 3.55 Posi Centersection
We installed a new gas tank, rebuilt the carburetor, resolved a few minor ignition issues, set the lifters and it is now a good running vehicle.
The paint is a 1990's average paint job, It has some minor imperfections that can be found up close but is very presentable, Not bad enough in our eyes to strip and refinish but definitely not a fresh show caliber paint. The Lemans Blue strips were just repainted on and really add to the finish on the car.
Underside of the vehicle is solid - floors, rails, rockers are all solid - The passenger side toe/front board show a fiberglass repair that we believe is from an earlier issue with the heater box in the vehicles life. Our body expert said the passenger side quarter panel has some prior work in it.
The interior is an original 1966 Mustang Interior, Original Bucket seats, folddown rear seat, great working Cobra Dash Tachometer, and the original Blue interior really sets off beautifully on the White/Blue body.
Runs Great and very presentable. Great package V8 Small Block Ford with Cobra and Shelby accessories, Toploader Transmission, Cobra Tach and a really catchy ride at a fraction of the cost of a true Shelby.
