1968 Ford Mustang Fastback Shelby GT500E 6 Speed Manual 351ci V8
The list of iconic movie cars is long, and sometimes the sole basis for many car collectors worldwide. From popular TV Series examples to block-buster Hollywood cars, you will instantly recognize the ones you connected with emotionally. When a movie remake comes around, the challenge for a writer and director is to capture the original appeal and excitement these vehicles created within the original film. In the case of the 1974 cult classic 'Gone in 60 Seconds', a movie about an expert car thief, it featured one of the longest car chase scenes on film, totaling 40-minutes long! They also destroyed 127 cars in the process. A remake of this movie was created in 2000 starring Nicolas Cage and a long list of A-list supporting actors. This new version of the movie came with an altered storyline adding plenty of suspense, awesome vehicles from several generations, and yet again, a nail-biting car chase! The star car for the film was once again a Mustang, this time a custom 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback code-named 'Eleanor'. She became such a prize attraction from the movie that many collectors internationally simply needed to own one!
We are very excited to present this beautifully built 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback turned Shelby GT500E tribute! Finished in the correct color of Pepper Gray Metallic over Black Leather interior, this exciting Fastback comes with all the right equipment to hit the streets in head-turning style! Coming from the former owner of 11 years, the process of converting the car began not long after the movie debuted with completion in approximately 2010. The original, all steel Fastback body would be transformed with expertly fitted molded fiberglass hood, fender flares, front & rear bumpers, side skirts, lower side & B-pillar scoops, taillight panel, and rear spoiler. After meticulous man hours to sculpt the new Shelby into shape, it would be professionally painted in multiple base and clear coats with black racing stripes buried underneath! Further paint protection would come from a C Quartz Finest ceramic coating. The exterior finish is nothing short of show quality!
