1978 Plymouth Volare 360 Factory Equipped E58

1978 Plymouth Volare "Kit Car", one year model and one of only 247 built...very few left today. This is the original "Wide Body" Mopar Performance "Kit Car" built to commemorate Plymouth's long association with Richard Petty. Richards actual autograph appears on the driver's door and glove box as well. It retains it's factory born with engine and transmission with minor upgrades such as a Mopar Performance electronic ignition kit, headers, true dual exhaust, an Edelbrock intake and AVS II carb with electric choke. The rear axle was upgrade to an 8 3/4 unit with a 3.55 gear.The body on this car is 100% rust free and always has been, sold new in Georgia and pampered for decades. The Kit Car was Plymouth's last attempt regarding the RWD Muscle Car scene of the 1970's, a neat piece of history.I am a retired Chrysler Engineering mechanic that personally assembled the very first prototype pictured on the cover of Motor Trend Magazine, several small details were changed once it reached production.
