1965 MGB ROADSTER. MK1. PULL DOOR HANDLE. BLACK WITH RED LEATHER TRIM, BLACK TOP/TONNEAU. 4-SPEED, CHROME WIRE WHEELS. OLDER “CLASSIC SHOWCASE” RESTORATION STILL PRESENTING WELL.
Highly attractive, pull door handle, MGB Mk1 in fantastic factory colors. This car was comprehensively restored by Classic Showcase in San Marcos, California in the late 90’s and is still presenting very well. It runs and drives great coming out of a recent car collection in the South, and only could use a few easy cosmetic fixes to return it to it’s perfect appearance.
The bodywork and paint on this car are excellent, being a very straight, solid black car with nice gaps. Quality paintwork was applied with new chrome, rubber, light lenses, and sundry body items fitted. There are a few paint chips showing from normal use and a blemish that could use correcting, but the car presents beautifully overall and particularly stunning with it’s chrome wire wheel set.
The car’s interior was completely restored at the time with leather trimmed seats, panel kit, restored dashboard, new steering wheel. The carpets have sun fade and should be replaced and the black soft top looks good but could use a rear window repair, both an easy job. The water temp part of the safety gauge is in-op.
Mechanically, the car is fantastic and was believed to have been completely rebuilt. The engine starts easily on the key, is well tuned, revs great and has very good power. The early original gearbox feels tight and quiet with good syncros. The car drives very well and confidently down the road with no issues on it’s radial tire set.
