1968 Oldsmobile 442 convertible with original numbers matching 400ci engine and transmission. This car is a real 442 and not a clone. It is a rare original factory bench seat 442. The car is very original in all ways with the exception of many new parts including suspension parts, shocks, coils, all control arms, brakes, shocks, steering box, head lights and added head rests using seats from 1969. The improvements were made for handling and stopping and greatly improved the original performance. The radiator is original style with upgraded double core. All weather strips are new with the exception of some of the convertible top gaskets. New motor for convertible top and lines, steering wheel, gas tank, some brake lines, fuel pump and sender. I bought the car in 2015 and made the upgrades using professional mechanics. The control arm changes corrected the tow in flaw inherent in many muscle cars of that era. The engine per prior owner was rebuilt with hardened valve seats for use with unleaded fuel. Everything on the car works with the exception of the cigarette lighter and the power antenna. The mileage currently showing 98,670 is believed to be original. The car was originally willow gold and was repainted before I bought it in blue. The interior is the original antique white. This 442 came with factory options, including convertible power top, 12-bolt anti-spin 3.42 axle, heavy duty radiator, power steering, wood grain steering wheel, tilt column, AM/FM radio, power trunk release. Some original parts are still available but not included with sale. The paint is driver quality with imperfections as shown in photos. Bumpers trim running lights etc. all generally in excellent condition.
