It won the hearts of motoring enthusiasts and quickly became a welcome sight on both road and track. The lightweight roadster was initially powered by a 1.8L B-Series engine that produced 95 horsepower and 110 lb-ft of torque. Though those seem like conservative numbers for a sports car, the 2030lb curb weight and superb handling characteristics resulted in a responsive, rewarding driving experience that rewarded driver skill but was usable and comfortable enough to serve as a daily driver.
