This fine example was purchased in 1965 by the current owner and has been with the family for over 6 decades, for the majority of the time locked away in a climate controlled warehouse. February of 1963 marks the halfway mark of the Ford Motor Companies production calendar in which the 260cid Windsor V8 Motor became available for the first time in the Falcon lineup. The Falcon Sprint was not only the first Falcon with a V8 it was the first ever Ford unibody car with a V8. The 1963.5 Falcon Sprint is a very limited production car with less than 15,000 total units produced, with only 4,602 of those being convertibles. The numbers get much fewer because of the optional 4 speed "Top Loader" manual gearbox. Other details include 5 lug 13 inch wheels, Sprint V8 badging, factory dash mounted tachometer. A 1963.5 Falcon Sprint is an iconic Ford not only as the first ever unibody V8, it was also the precursor to the legendary Mustang which came to market the very next year.
