1967 Lotus Elan SE less than 20000 kilometers
This Lotus was set aside after a broken water pump sidelined the car. Elan had less than 20,000 kilometers on the gauge. The car was trailered for a restoration to a daily driver and ultimately, a tribute to Jimmy Clark, the Formula One World Champion, who drove Lotus Elan S1 Serial Number 001 - a gift from Lotus Cars owner, Colin Chapman. The Jim Clark Elan was finished in Carmine Red over classic Mercedes Benz Silver. The Clark car resides in the Jim Clark museum in Scotland. This Elan was taken down to its bare fiberglass, hand sanded to a perfect clean canvas, primed multiple coats, and finished multiple coats of Diamont Paint base and clearcoats. All electrical and mechanical systems and components were tested, refreshed, repaired or replaced
New seats, door panels, headliner, sunvisors. Dual Webers carburetors. Powder coated alloy wheels. The car starts, stops, runs, drives - as designed by Lotus. 1250 pounds. 115 Horsepower. Stainless steel single exhaust off of factory downpipes. Five (5) new radial tires.
