1968 Ford Mustang Fastback powerful 351 cubic inch V8 12108 Miles
Mustang fans, let me be the first to assure you that any resemblance between this 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback and the famous one used by Steve McQueen in "Bullitt" is purely intentional. Complete with a powerful 351 cubic inch V8, an upgraded 5-speed gearbox, great options, and those famous Torque Thrust 'Old Style' wheels, this car has the look that everyone loves. This Mustang is serious. It's nasty, it's fast, and it pulls no punches in any regard. It's beautiful in every way that a car can be and the sheetmetal looks stretched over the frame so tightly that you know there's not an ounce of fat on it anywhere. And that's a good thing because dark paint like the Highland Green keeps no secrets and the sheetmetal on this car is very straight and super sharp. It had some surgery during its restoration, but it was done right, with new sheetmetal rear quarters and an entire Dynacorn one-piece floorpan seamlessly integrated into the original design in such a way that even experts can't spot the work outside. In the classic car game, you get what you pay for, and it's no doubt this Mustang cost a pretty penny to execute and we commend the builders on a job well done. Doors fit right, the hood sits flush, and the deck lid blends seamlessly into the fastback profile to give it a beautiful, uninterrupted curve. If a top-end, driver-grade Mustang with a slick paint job is what you're after, then you can't do much better than this, and if you'd like to show it this Fastback can hang with the best of them. It's got some bright trim, just enough to highlight the fastback's most delicious details, but the grille has been properly blacked out and all the emblems removed, just like the Bullitt movie car. Chrome bumpers sparkle, the rocker panel molding adds the perfect amount of flash at the profiles, and we love the way the sculpted tail panel looks, complete with sporty gas cap and dual exhaust exiting underneath the rear valance. The all-black interior is every bit as wonderfully restored, with crisp, well-detailed leather seat covers on the buckets, a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel, and Hurst 5-speed shifter sticking out of the transmission tunnel.
