1968 Volkswagen Beetle Classic fully restored legendary Bug
This fully restored 1968 Volkswagen Beetle is a fine example of the legendary 'Bug'. The restoration resulted in a VW that looks pretty original but has had nice engine and suspension enhancements. Prior to paint, the unibody was carefully refreshed. As part of a thorough overall prep process, new floor-pans and running boards were installed. Body panels fit very well and the beautiful 2-stage Deep Blue finish was carefully applied. Other new components include a windshield, rubber window seals and a wiring harness. New five-spoke alloys w/Kumho radials provide a nice accent. Halogen headlights were installed and new bumper/nerf bars were added. The storage compartment under the front bonnet has been detailed and carpeted. The interior has been reupholstered in Cream vinyl and is classic Volkswagen - radio-delete with new black loop carpeting. (A new dash is also 'somewhat' padded.) There is no A/C, but this VW is still very cool - just roll down the windows and have fun. The Beetle is powered by a 1600cc flat-four 'boxer' that is housed in a nicely detailed engine compartment. It was totally rebuilt with performance enhancements. An aftermarket single 2-barrel carb setup was installed (appears to be the EMPI conversion) along with a mild street-cam. The distributor is a Bosch 009 and a new starter was added along with new plug wires. This Bug has a great 'lope' through the custom dual header exhaust system. The 4-speed manual transmission w/new clutch components shifts smoothly. Brakes have been converted to 4-wheel disc, a new fuel tank installed ('69) and new front/rear shocks have been fitted. Look at the photos - this is a carefully restored VW that someone is going to have a lot of fun with.
