1969 Ford Mustang Built 390 V8 Engine beautiful restoration
A labor of love in restoration for three years, this 1969 Mach 1 has undergone a beautiful restoration with multiple upgrades to make the drive even more enjoyable. Thanks to the framed Marti Report, we know that this car came from the Ford factory as one of just two 1969 Mach 1 Mustangs with all of the options selected for the car. Originally built with the desirable 428 Cobra Jet, the block was unfortunately found to be unsalvageable. With the rarity of these engines nowadays, the decision was made to move to a big block 390 and modify it to match or better the 428’s performance. The new big bore core block was given an F390EK engine kit, Edelbrok cylinder heads and intake manifold, and set for performance timing. A detailed engine build sheet is available upon request.
In the meantime, the body was stripped down and put through a frame-off restoration and check. Areas of concern were all dealt with including new panels, new welds, and modifying to fit the new frame. When all was complete, the body was resprayed in the original option Wimbledon White color, and given new stripes and accents to match. Just as the rest of the vehicle, the interior is primarily all new from the carpets to the digital gauges. Remaining original is the dash which was able to be kept correct. A new digital style stereo and speakers were installed giving good background music, and the A/C system was completely gone through as well. Detailed invoices from the three year process are included upon request. Having been driven under 200 miles since the restoration, this car is ready to hit the road.
