1957 Ford Fairlane 500 sharp looking hardtop 76718 Miles
This 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 is a fantastically coordinated total package inside and out that keeps all the right vintage pieces - right down to the working AM radio. And there have been just the right investments to make sure it remains a cool cruiser. You can famously get a Ford n black, but this one was upgraded to it later in life. It makes an ideal mix of a good gloss, but an overall driver-quality finish that's easy to take out on the road. And the full appeal is seen in how straight the panels are and how the doors operate confidently. The brightwork package that makes this icon is complete, including the wraparound chrome bumpers, correct hood ornament, and extra-wide grille are all clean and bright. The sweeping side trim had one of its most graceful dips thanks to the streak of premium gold built right in. And the extra-long tailfin that started at the door handle gave these full-size cars some Thunderbird flair - a feeling that was continued with the afterburner tail lights. Bright dual exhaust tips, whitewall tires, and even a spotlight for display are all part of a fun vintage package. The darkness is continued inside on the seats, carpet, and dash. It's broken up nicely by a tastefully contrasting white on the door panels and headliner. It has the right presentation for a thoughtful driver's classic. For example, the seats now have comfy velour inserts and the window felts have the look of new. Plus, everything you love about these icons is still in place. This includes the artful steering wheel, bright dash, working dome lights, and even the AM radio that's still cranking tunes. And there's just something special about being able to roll down all the side glass of a pillarless hardtop coupe. Forward-tilt hoods always feel like they have a sporty style, so it's nice to reveal the Thunderbird Special V8. The trim tag tells us this was optioned with the factory with the larger 312 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor on top. Since it still carries those specs today, it's nice to have it looking so clean and honest. This tidy engine bay also shows off the good care and an upgraded aluminum radiator that makes this a solid cruiser. This is the kind of classic coupe that likes you to feel the road, but features like the smooth ride, Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, and hum of the dual exhaust make cruising the boulevard a nice experience. This Fairlane 500 is the sharp-looking hardtop that's fun to show off everywhere. So if you believe in enjoying your icons to the fullest, don't miss this cool-cruising Ford.
