1965 Ford Mustang convertible in Dynasty Green with white manual top
1965 Ford Mustang convertible in Dynasty Green with white manual top and whiteinterior. My wife and I have owned this car since the spring of 2016. It is equipped with a 200 ci inline-6 anda C4 automatic w/ center console. It presently has 89,402 miles.The car has been converted to 99-04 Mustang GT 5-lug power disc brakes in front using a kit from CSRP.As part of this swap, the entire front end was rebuilt including new upper and lower control arms, and V8steering components to go with the new spindles. OpenTracker roller spring perches and the famed "Shelby"drop were also added during the installation.Shocks are KYB GR2's all around with an Addco 1" anti roll bar in front.The rearend is the original 7.25" unit with a 3.00:1 ratio, rebuilt with new bearings and seals.The rear axles have been converted to 5-lug to match the front.Wheels are new aluminum Scott Drake GT replicas in 15x7" running 225/60R15 tires.Also included with the car is an identical 5th spare GT wheel and tire.We were able to locate a correct 65 inline 6 engine a few years back that had been removedat 30k miles to make way for a V8 swap. Upon inspection when we got it home, we noted thatit was spotless inside. As a result, it was given a set of fresh gaskets and dropped it in to replacethe incorrect 66 engine that was in the car when we purchased it. It runs beautifully, consumesNO oil and doesn't leak a drop!The C4 automatic is freshly built and shifts great - no leaks, no issues.The driveshaft is freshly balanced with new U-joints.Exhaust is a brand new stock replacement from Walker - an additional resonator was added tothe mid-pipe to keep the car nice and quietBrake and fuel lines are all brand newRadiator has been upgraded to a new aluminum unit from ACP - engine temps are rock solid even on 90+ degree daysHeater core is a brand new aluminum unit and the heater box is rebuilt with fresh foam gasketsA Borgesen power steering conversion has been installed, as this car was originally equipped with manual steering& brakes. Also added during the swap is a Cobra style wood steering wheelThe ignition has been upgraded to an HEI conversion from Davis Unified Ignition (DUI), replacing the troublesomefactory vacuum-only points setup.Alternator has been upgraded to a Delco CS130 internally regulated systemThe stock headlights have been upgraded to Hella H4 conversion capsules for much safer night-time drivingThis upgrade also includes a heavy duty headlamp harness to eliminate the electrical load from the stock headlampswitch and wiring.A Retrosound radio has been installed with USB input & Bluetooth - looks factory, but has modern conveniencesPaint and body are driver quality, not show car, making this a perfect car to take anywhere and just enjoy.Its a wonderfully reliable vehicle that gets smiles and waves everywhere it goes.
