1965 Pontiac GTO two tone black over purple 427ci Chevrolet V8
This 1965 Pontiac Tempest Le Mans was refinished in two-tone black over purple after the body was modified with a chopped roof, molded bumpers and cowl, and shaved door handles. The custom-upholstered cabin is trimmed in black with molded interior panels painted to match the exterior. Power comes from a 427ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and other features include staggered 17 inch and 18 inch wheels, a modified suspension, disc brakes, a B&M shifter, a smoothed firewall, Flowmaster mufflers, a Holley carburetor, and digital gauges. This modified GTO was acquired in 2020 and is offered with a clean Illinois title. The body has been modified with a chopped roof, a molded cowl and bumpers, deletion of the drip rails, and shaved door handles. The exterior was refinished in two-stage purple and black separated by painted orange pinstripes and a checkered flag motif that extends down the sides of the car between the two-tone paintwork. A stainless-steel grille has also been added. Polished 17 inch and 18 inch Boyd Coddington Junkyard Dog wheels are mounted with 225/50 front and 245/50 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Braking is from discs all around, and the suspension is said to have received replacement shocks, springs, suspension bushings, ball joints, and tie-rods during the build. Other modifications reportedly include Front Global West tubular control armsAftermarket front and rear sway barsRear air bags and springsRear Edelbrock boxed control armsThe interior features custom upholstery on the front bucket seats and rear bench.
