1964 Plymouth Fury big 426 Street Wedge V8 upgrade
A top-of-the-line 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop with the big 426 Street Wedge V8 upgrade, four-on-the-floor, and a terrific coordinated color theme. This is what Mopar dreams are made of. The factory-correct Chestnut Metallic is exactly the kind of presentation you want to have on a classic coupe. There's been a solid investment in the color, and it proves it to you the moment the sunshine hits it. The bodywork is in excellent condition, so after you're done attracting attention with the color, you'll be proud that the details hold up under scrutiny as well. The straight-edge styling works well on this very fast Fury. The pointed front fenders with a matching edge in the grille put an intimidating face forward. Plus, the hardtop roofline is unique, there are bright wraparound chrome bumpers, and the full-length body crease that wraps around the rear is absolutely sporty. It's such a well-restored and detailed coupe that the trim line still has its correct red, white, and blue markings. But this is more than just a quality classic, and the upgraded stance of the competition-style American Racing Torq Thrust wheels hint at how this Sport Fury truly earns its name. A bucket seat interior was standard for the range-topping Sport Fury, and you will be hard-pressed to find another car that looks this detailed today. The copper upholstery has tan inserts, and this matches the side panels, right down to the button-top presentation. And the full color package is in harmony with the exterior chestnut brown. So you'll happily leave all the windows down on this pillarless hardtop just so people can get a better look inside. And all the little working details - from the dome light to the AM/FM radio - make this feel like a time machine back to 1964. The center console is a Mopar work of art. And the same goes for the factory steering wheel and the big bright four gauge panel. In fact, the only additions you may spot inside are the Hurst shifter and temp & oil pressure readouts under the dash. They remind you that there's something special under the hood. The callout hood ornament isn't lying, that's the upgraded 426 cubic-inch Street Wedge V8 stuffed in-between the fenders. Big block Mopar power always looks great, but this presentation is exceptionally tidy and show-ready, right down to the polished air grabber and valve covers. An Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, long tube headers, and an X-pipe dual exhaust add to the rumble and performance. You get complete control over all the sound and the fury of this Sport Fury, thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. While this is an intimidating package, front disc brakes and wide BF Goodrich G-Force T/A sport tires give you confident control.
