The engine is a Performance Engineering 1968 Ford 302CI which now is 331CI and produces 410HP. The engine was selected in order to keep the car as close as possible to Carroll Shelby's favored original idea and it certainly looks the part. It has just the right amount of usable power for a car this size that weighs in at only 2,450 pounds, plus it simply looks like you stepped back in time to 1965! There is plenty of Grunt and just the right amount of deep Rumpity-Rump when you fire it up! Of course, it sports Cobra Valve Covers with matching Air Cleaner and Black Ceramic Coated Headers, Side-Pipes and Heat Shields. Next comes a Tremac World Class T-5 Transmission that enables effortless cruising at high speed while keeping the revs down where they belong, yet the gear ratios take full advantage of the cars power, making it FUN to DRIVE at ANY Speed. Power goes to a 3.40 Posi-Traction Rear and on to a BMW Independent Rear Suspension. The Cobra has the optional mirror and upgraded Wood Steering wheel as well. 17 Inch Knock-Off Style ET III Wheels complete the period look. This Cobra was ordered without the Stripes so that it could be made to look like the Terlingua Racing Team cars form the 60's. Carroll Shelby and other historied friends formed this team and you must research its history and accomplishments. While started more in a tongue in cheek fashion, the team did win the 1967 SCCA Trans Am series. This explains the appropriateness of the Racing Team Logo and Stripe on this Cobra as it pays homage to those glory days. You cannot take this car outside without causing every head to turn!
