1968 Pontiac GTO Numbers Matching 400ci Automatic
After having found a long forgotten original paint 1968 matching numbers GTO, my goal or vision with this car was to completely go through everything necessary to get it back on the road but leaving that survivor/ still on the road look on the outside. I was pretty much able to do that; however, I couldn't help myself with a light touch up re-spray of the Endura bumper and a few small other areas. Overall it's mostly all original paint and if you like this look then here it is. There are small dings & dents / scratches all over from years of use and neglect. There's just something about seeing a non pristine car on the road these days that always turns my head, it reminds me of the 80's (high school days). It's especially fun to open the hood and see a completely clean and restored engine bay with the fresh 400 ci eng. and rebuilt turbo 400 trans. The entire brake and power steering system is brand new as well as all front end bushings ect.. The exhaust also new and nicely done as factory on correct hangers. As far as the hide-away headlight system, all vacuum hoses, bushings and both actuators are new as well as the headlight switch so it goes without say that it works perfectly (many don't). Four brand new Firestone G-70 narrow whites on stock 14" Rally II wheels just as it would have in 68. Interior also restored including new seat foam and every rubber seal on the car including wind wings (68 only).
