1967 Dodge Coronet 13734 Miles Red Coupe 440 cubic inch V8
Mostly original with one repaint. Strong-running 440, automatic, buckets, console, and unusual Safety Package. Great color combination, fantastic runner. A super clean, unmolested R/T that delivers on its awesome look! The dramatic cantilever roofline works as well on the full-sized Coronet as it does on its smaller siblings, making it instantly recognizable and very much a product of the ‘60s. Chrysler stylists took it easy everywhere else, so the contrast is especially effective and the angular styling works extremely well. The good news is that those long, straight body panels don’t leave any place for lousy workmanship to hide, and the bright red flanks on this R/T are quite good indeed. The doors swing open easily and close with a reassuring mechanical sound that seems unique to Chrysler. As an R/T, there are a few spiffs, including the four little scoops on the hood and the simulated air intakes on the quarters, but again, none of it is over-done. Add in the handsome fine-toothed grille and matching tail panel, and this car looks aggressive without seeming like a kid’s car. Details like the chrome bumpers with unusual bumper guards, stainless body trim, and all the black vinyl top remain in excellent condition with no critical issues. This car has never been fully restored yet still looks great 55 years later.Buckets with a console in between makes the Coronet’s interior functional as well as sporting. We believe the upholstery is original and in fantastic condition with no critical wear or split seams. The door panels feature unique ‘Coronet R/T’ badges and the black carpets are in excellent shape—they’ve surely been replaced at some point. The factory gauges were pretty complete, although a console-mounted tachometer is always welcome on a car with this much performance. Crisp markings and clear lenses look great through the spokes of the three-spoke wheel and even the original Music Master AM radio is still in the dash. R/T emblem floor mats dress things up a bit and the Safety Package option group added headrests to the seats, which was a rare find in 1967. The massive trunk is properly outfitted with a reproduction mat, correct jack in the quarter panel, and a full-sized spare stowed underneath.
