1941 Cadillac Series 62 Flat Head V8 346 Cubic Inch Automatic
Flat Head V8 346 Cubic Inch Automatic Transmission Manual Steering Manual Drum Brakes Fender Skirts AM Pushbutton Radio Gauge Package Fender Mount Antennae Dual Outside Mirrors Oil Bath Air Cleaner Heater Bumper Guards Grille Guards Wide Whitewall Radial Tires Correct Hubcaps Original Hood and Fender Trim Clock Spare Tire Manual Convertible Top Correct emblems and badges Elegant' barely begins to describe Cadillac's 1941 models.
Harley Earl's design staff introduced substantially new bodies for '41 with distinctive new grilles for the first time without a vertical center element and instead using dramatic, strong horizontal chrome elements that extended from fender-to-fender, subtle eggcrate verticals, widened fenders with integrated headlights and fog lights, strong chrome hood side vents and triple chrome spears on the pontoon front fenders that no longer provided for sidemounted spares. The extended rear fenders featured skirts over the rear wheels highlighted by Cadillac emblems at the wheel centers. It was strong, emphatic design that, as GM designer David Holls has noted, had great 'road value', instant recognition as a Cadillac at a glance on the road. This 1941 Cadillac Series 62 is the convertible sedan body, the last year for a 4-door convertible for Cadillac and one of only about 400 built.
