In 1996, a highly appreciative buyer purchased the vehicle and retained ownership of it until 2021, completing 25 years of ownership. Mechanically, this Bugeye is very sound, with many recent mechanical refurbishments being completed in 2016-2017. Work completed to the 948cc Inline-Four engine includes:Block magnafluxed, decked, and honedNew block seals, core plugs, and oil passageway plugs.020" under main and rod bearingsNew thrust bearings and piston ringsCylinder head cleaned and magnafluxedNew valvetrain and hardened seatsRebuilt carburetors with new needles, seats, throttle shafts, and gaskets New cloth-wrapped wiring harnessNew ignition components New exhaust downpipe and mufflerBeyond these tasks, the fuel tank and lines were flushed, and new urethane front-end bushings were installed along with the tie rod ends being replaced.
