1973 Volvo P1800 ES Hatchback Light Yellow
The car is finished in yellow over black vinyl and equipment includes overdrive, four-wheel disc brakes, aftermarket air conditioning, a rear window defroster, and an aftermarket cassette stereo.
The shooting brake body was reportedly repainted in its factory Light Yellow (107) shortly before its acquisition by the seller in 2015. Exterior features include chrome bumpers, side mirrors, side moldings, and upper quarter panel trim culminating in fins at the rear as well as a heated glass rear hatch. The seller notes the presence of small paint chips on the hood.
Factory 15″ steel wheels are finished in silver and fitted with trim rings, Volvo center caps, and Lemans Touring A/S II tires that were mounted in September 2020. The brake pads were replaced and a fluid flush was carried out in 2017.
Black seat covers and a replacement headliner sourced from iRoll Motors were installed in 2016, and the floors are covered in dark brown carpeting. Amenities include a wood-trimmed dash face, an analog clock, an Old Air Products air conditioning system, and an aftermarket cassette stereo. The air conditioning system was serviced and pressure tested in October 2020.
Smiths instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline along with gauges for coolant and oil temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer works but miles unknown, approximately 1k have been added by the seller.
The 2.0-liter B20F inline-four was rebuilt in 2015 which included honing the cylinders, decking the block, replacing the valve guides, resurfacing the cylinder head and flywheel, a three-angle valve job, and balancing the rotating assembly along with installation of hardened exhaust seats. Additional work performed by the seller consisted of a refurbishment of the factory Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection system with replacement injectors and seals, fuel pressure regulator, manifold air pressure and temperature sensors, distributor and ECM, throttle valve switch, thermal timer and cold-start valve. The radiator, water pump, and alternator were also replaced during current ownership, and an oil change was performed in October 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
