1970 AMC AMX BIG BAD BLUE
I bought this car from the widow of the original owner. It is as nice as one can ask a 50 year old car to be without a formal restoration. There has been a few things done like carpet and a dash overlay but most of the car is as it was born. The paint is better than a five footer but it does have typical chips and such. I am told 95% of the paint is original. I do not know where the 5% part is. There is no rust anywhere that I can find. Original exhaust pipes, glass, carb and so on, very special car. The odo mileage is accurate according to the lady i got the car from.
The driveline is original to the car. This is where the problem comes in. I bought the car to drive, but I noticed the RH exhaust pipe is smoking excessively. My diagnosis is the number 6 cylinder has had detonation issues and oil is blowing by. I have changed the intake gasket with no remedy. Compression is good all around.
