The previous owner commissioned a cosmetic refurbishment, engine rebuild and chassis upgrades soon after purchasing in 2007. The 1.8L DOHC inline four-cylinder engine makes 135 horsepower and was reportedly rebuilt by a factory-trained Alfa technician in 2007, with new Borgo pistons and liners as well as fresh main and connecting rod bearings. A Euro-spec six-blade fan is underhood, as is chassis tag Type 105.44, denoting a non-US car. The cylinder head was rebuilt with new valves and springs. Two Weber 40 DCOE sidedraft carburetors wear K&N pancake filters and a Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust has been fitted. Valve clearances remain within factory specifications as of August 2016, according to the previous owner while compression measures 152 psi across all cylinders and oil pressure at idle is reported to stay above 50 psi at operating temperature. A service in May 2016 included a new clutch, throwout bearing, transmission mount and driveshaft couple, a fresh input seal and new rear main seals. The crinkle-finish cam cover is complements by aftermarket items such as a 123 electronic distributor, a pair of vintage Fiamm brass air horns, hoses and breather filter. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission in which second gear will crunch if downshifted too quickly without rev-matching. Other 20076 modifications included a big brake kit with drilled and slotted rotors from Centerline as well as upgraded springs and shocks. A new upper control arm was installed in May 2016.
