1969 Charger 440 MAGNUM 4 SPEED B5 Blue Graveyard
Here's a rare opportunity to buy a complete and running 1969 Charger R/T, 440-4 speed that hasn't been cut up, butchered up or ratted out. Yes, it's a project car but it's very complete and one you can drive now while you gather time and resources to restore it. This is a really great example of the Charger R/T for 1969. Great colors and options and structurally speaking, super solid. It has the original fender tag and all body numbers match. It also comes with the original 4 speed transmission and Dana 60 (still in the car). Original engine is long gone.
The rust you see on the tops of the quarters and tail light panel are from sitting outside for over 20 years, uncovered. The trunk floor needs replaced for the same reasons. The bottoms of the quarters both in front of and behind the wheel openings need patches. This is a factory undercoat car, so that means the frame rails, floor pan, under seat pan, rockers and transmission crossmember are near perfect, with no visible rust.
The doors, fenders, hood, cowl, firewall, inner fenders, are all really nice with no evidence of previous damage. Look closely at the under hood pictures and pay attention to how incredibly nice all of the sheet metal is and how original everything is. This is nearly impossible to find on a project Charger.
The car has been off of the road since the 90's and is NOT roadworthy as it stands. It will need brake work and some electrical stuff repaired if you plan on driving as-is. All of the lights work and all of the gauges, except the Tic-Toc-Tach. It runs really well and shifts nicely through the gears.
When I bought the car recently, it did not have an engine in it. The original numbers matching engine is gone. The 440 in the car is a 1971 440 that has been rebuilt and is a super nice engine. The transmission in the car is a 23 spline and obviously not the original one. However, I do have the original transmission that needs rebuilt and a broken ear repaired. I also have a date coded correct "E440HP" block that comes with the car so that you can make this a very correct restoration.
