1990 Lander Rover Defender 110 - Swapped with LSA 6.2 Liter Supercharged V8
This Defender is a special RestoMod vehicle designed to look and feel powerful while maintaining its classic elements. This rust-free Euro-Spec 110 comes to life with the new engine swap, making 600 horsepower - 5x more than the original 2.5DTI motor. Additionally, this beautiful RestoMod defender has been fully repaired and restored by myself (certified GM mechanic, and mechanic of over 40 years) along with the help of our local body and tune shops; optimized to be one great machine. Specific details and videos of the mean, rugged machine can be found below:ChassisThe original chassis is fully restored. All outriggers replaced with new Britpart outriggers. Rear section of chassis was replaced with long legged galvanized rear crossmember, and the rest of the chassis that had rust was replaced with new metal and treated. Shock towers reinforced and new uprated suspension turrets for the front and rear. Rear coil locater installed. Britpart 4 wheel discs were upgraded from drum. Upgraded parking brake from drum to disc. Front end differential was completely rebuilt with new bearing kit, and rear differential was rebuilt with bearing kit and new axles. Britpart 1.5 inch lift kit, Terrafirma shocks and Terrafirma heavy duty steering arms and links, equipped with Terrafirma steering damper BodyNew second row (rear) doors, new tailgate door, and later taken to a local body shop for body work and paint. Footwells replaced, battery box was replaced, and bulkhead was repaired. The color is factory green with semigloss finish. New front winch bumper with bash plate, new TrailFX 9500 pound winch, new skid plate and differential guard, new 3 piece face lift grill, new Chequer plate kit designed to protect sill, front wing, bonnet, front and second row doors, and rear wing. New NAS – style rear tow bar & step equipped with a removeable rear 7500 pound remote winch. Mantec spare tire carrier. New 10 point safety device equipped with ladder and LED offroad lights. New D44 Glass shield and Masai hood scoop. DrivetrainDrivetrain is 6.2 liter Supercharged LSA engine with a new 6 speed automatic transmission 3.55 gear ratio and a new Britpart LT230 transfer case. Donor car was a 2015 Camaro ZL1 with 10k miles. Engine and transmission are controlled by PSI conversion kit. Tuned by Tune Time Performance in Lakewood, New Jersey. Engine and transfer case was met with a new LT230 adapter made by RW Performance Engineering. Custom made front & rear driveshafts. 5 new Terrafirma Bead lock wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja 305/70R16 Tires InteriorInterior seats are stock and Ashcroft center console was added with touch-button shifter made by Power-Solutions. Brand new factory A/C was added. New Infotainment system capable of Bluetooth, GPS, backup camera (not installed) and new 4 speaker system installed. New Dokota Digital HDX-2018 dashboard installed.
